Houston Coffee Shops

Let me start with a disclaimer. I am not a coffee aficionado, but I do love trying out new places in my free time. I also live outside the loop so I haven’t gotten the chance to experience all that I’d like, so this list will definitely evolve over time.

Brass Tacks

I live near Northeast Houston so I really appreciate having a local coffee shop on this side of town. They advertise themselves as the perfect blend of work and life, and honestly… I agree. Perfect place to study or hang out with friends. There’s a bunch of natural lighting throughout the building, tons of wall outlets, and different seating options. Their menu variety is top-tier, from Banh Mi to Gyros. Their drink selection is just as long, they offer mocktails, craft drinks, teas, and of course, coffee.

Tout Suite

So I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with this cafe lol. Not entirely sure why, but something about it seems a bit off to me. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s a beautiful place. The food and coffee are pretty darn good, but definitely not my first choice when thinking of a place to go. I do appreciate how they’re open long hours, perfect for studying at night or getting drinks with friends. But besides my personal bias, I do think it is a Houston coffee shop staple. If you haven’t visited yet definitely add it to your bucket list and try it for yourself.

Agora

When I tell you I love Agora’s Iced Vanilla Latte, I am not lying. The last time I had it I drank it in under five minutes. And I’m typically one of those people that leave a sizable amount of watered-down coffee soup. Not with this latte, no drops left every time. Obsessed to say the least. For loving this drink that much, I don’t visit very often, the main reason being that Agora is always packed. No matter the time of day it’s basically impossible to get a table there. With good reason though, the coffee is great, the vibes are great, and you’re surrounded by other eclectic businesses off of Westheimer. But I absolutely love the charm of the building, definitely another Houston staple. If you do plan on visiting I highly recommend going in the mornings to beat the rush.
